Interreg Adriatic Ionian Program (ADRION): International launching event held in Tirana

Tirana Regional Council honored with the “Gratitude” title Professor Patrizio Bianchi. Professor. Bianchi is the Regional Minister for Coordination of European Policies for Growth, Education, Vocational training, Scientific Research and Employment, of Emilia Romagna Region, Italy.

Before the launcing event of the 2nd call for proposals organized by the EU's Interreg Adriatic Ionian Funding Program, where Professor Bianchi was the key speaker, he held a meeting with the President of Tirana Regional Council also Chairman of Tirana’s Municipal Council, Mr. Aldrin Dalipi.

Mr. Dalipi while awarding the title emphasized that Professor Bianchi is a personality with a special contribution for the enhancement of the territorial cooperation in the Adriatic-Ionian area.

The 2nd call for proposals from the EU's Interreg Adriatic-Ionian programme launched
Under the auspices of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Managing Authority of Interreg Adriatic Ionian and the support of the European Union took place the international launch event of the second call for projects under the EU's Interreg Adriatic Ionnian funding program.

The launch event aimed at introducing the priority call axis and topics on which projects under this calls will be accepted. In his speech addressed to the event, Professor Bianchi brought a reflection of the debates that are currently prevailing in Brussels over the EU budget, reducing support for the Cohesion Strategy and increasing funding for technology research.

Among others, Prof. Bianchi emphasized that the cohesion of European regions should be maintained and increased as the only way to contribute to the sustainable development of the European macro-regions as one.

While highlighted the connection between the EUSAIR Strategy and the cohesion funds, the necessity of financing its action plan, Prof. Bianchi as one of initiators of Europe’s macro-regions since 2003, said that this model of development is still strong and guarantees cohesive development of all regions of the union.
